Tone Reference Library: Pickups
As you probably know by now, it is the body and neck woods used in the construction of an electric guitar that creates its tone. The pickups listen to that wood-tone and reproduce the frequencies that they are designed to emphasize. To create the world’s finest sounding electric guitars, it is not only necessary to flawlessly assemble beautiful bodies and necks from the best hand selected woods but also to manufacture our own pickups, allowing us to control and fine tune the complete tonal response of the instrument. Each and every model of pickup is designed and manufactured to bring forth gorgeous tone. Every series has its own unique sonic character, which emphasize different tonal characteristics from vintage to mid and high power. All this allows your Anderson guitar to produce the perfect sound for your playing style or to “Andersonize” your “other” guitar. Our friend Dave Barber of Barber Electronics—maker of wonderful effects pedals—has compiled sound bites of our TM, M-Series, TV and VA-Series pickups for your listening pleasure. Have fun and enjoy!

Humbucker
All of our humbucking pickups have an exceptionally smooth overdrive tone and upper end clarity without a harsh fuzz quality. By using a larger pole piece and redesigned string spacing, we have eliminated high and low string dropouts with a uniform magnetic field. Also, every humbucking comes with 4 conductor shielded cable to allow you the maximum in wiring versatility. We’ve categorized our humbuckers into three types, H, HN, and HO, and three approximate output groups—blue, yellow and red. The HN series is a very hot pickup with accentuated mids and upper mid-range punch to cut through. The HO is a very-vintage humbucker. The H series is full and open sounding and ranges from mild to very hot in output. These may very well be the best splitting humbucking pickups on the planet.
