I think we’ve got trouble—fashion trouble that is. Its Pete…Pete Anderson of Dwight Yoakam fame. He just picked up his new Hollow T Classic. In the past he has always chosen white Anderson guitars so as not to clash with his snappy stage attire. Recently, he has become rather daring by opting for a black Cobra—once again so as not to create a conflict between his dashing duds and his magnificent instrument. But now he has gone and done it, some may even say he has gone too far! He now has in his possession this “Ruby Slippers,” Hollow T Classic. Oh my gosh! What is he going to wear now? What kind of apparel could possibly compete with Ruby Slippers? Perhaps feathers like an early David Bowie costume? No, not for Pete. What then? Some kind of hat with spinney things and a working horn. No, bad idea.
The real saving grace in all of this is that Ruby Slippers is an absolutely gorgeous color that announces itself with dominance from stage. And if anyone gives Pete any trouble, were there with that perfect Anderson tone and playability to back him up. The lightweight, resonant ash topped/alder backed body has become his favorite wood compilation but he deviates from his usual formula by equipping this one with an all maple neck for slightly more control of the top and bottom frequencies. He now tunes down ½ step and takes full advantage of the lowered tuning by incorporating a .010 to .052 string set up.
We know he is going to love Ruby Slippers, especially when complemented by our Aged White pickguard. He is just the guitar wizard that can demonstrate the power of this fiery color properly. With it he will easily command the stage and you will pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
