The Classic
Alder
Translucent Red to Black Burst

We’ve been away on vacation. It was fun…thanks. How’s your summer been? I ran ahead before the rest of Anderson gets back. I wanted to quickly show you a guitar that we all agreed was an absolutely fabulous sounding Classic.

The alder body abounds with giant Anderson-alder tone, boosting the low end of the SD series single coils and making them sound huge. Alder also accommodates the H2+ humbucker bridge pickup by providing fertile sonic-ground for it to standout with power and authority. The single/single/humbucker pickup layout creates an extremely versatile guitar when controlled by our Switcheroo switching system. It enables any pickup or any combination of pickups to be run in series, split or parallel while still facilitating soloing with one flick of the blower switch.

Brian special ordered this guitar through Alpha Audio in Mystic, Connecticut. He chose a vintage-tinted, Small 50’s V, maple neck with a Madagascar rosewood fingerboard. This species of rosewood is easily identified by a beautiful reddish hue. This coloration is due to the natural reddish oils in the wood. The tint of the board sets off the finish chosen for the body—don’t you think so?

Let’s talk more about the color shall we. You are looking at Translucent Red to Black Burst. It is the first one we have ever done. We discussed this finish in depth while out on the river together. Since color is a completely subjective area, opinions ran high. It seems that this color scheme first appeared on the scene in the 1960’s. It adorned guitars upon which you would likely begin your musical career. Others pointed out that it is this very characteristic that makes it one of the coolest guitars we have ever done. It takes an old theme and brings it up-to-date with pure perfection. Still others said, “Who cares about any of that, this is an absolutely beautiful guitar. Period!” Point well taken. We could not help but all agree. As for me, I totally love this guitar. While experiencing pure playing excellence, it joyfully reminds me of a wonderful time when music was laying a foundation that would change the world. That is certainly good enough for me. How about you? Nice job Brian!
