Court Exonerates Bruce of Wildwood Guitars

In a unanimous decision the Superior Court of Colorado completely vindicated Bruce for his actions concerning the arrival of the very first Natural Honey Burst Atom to Wildwood Music in Louisville, Colorado.

The judge, a guitar player himself, said Bruce’s actions were reasonable and prudent and totally justified. He went on to say that no guitar player should be expected to resist playing an Anderson—especially an Atom.

The incident all began when Bruce, an honored employee of Wildwood Guitars, opened the box to the Anderson Atom upon its arrival at their store. As one would normally do, he snapped open the latches of the case to inspect its contents, but apparently was not prepared for what he was about to lay eyes upon.

Bruce would later say in a statement made to the Guitar Police, “Natural Honey Burst on such a gorgeous Quilted Maple top, and knowing it was the very first Atom to ever be finished this way was more than too much to bear. I just couldn’t help myself.”

Reportedly, Bruce carefully lifted the guitar from its case, plugged into one of the many great amps at Wildwood and began to jam…at full volume…for 28 hours straight.

Not until the Guitar Police arrived was Bruce actually able to lay the guitar down, and come out of the building with his hands up…to have something to eat and drink and be able to get a little needed rest—in the guitar hoosegow.

In the rather unorthodox court room scene, the judge asked Bruce to elaborate, in detail, upon what playing an Atom was like.

Bruce described it like this: “I play all the Andersons when they come into the store. The single coil tones of the M-Series pickups are so amazing. It’s really surprising what great single coil tones Atoms can get from their Ms. I just love ‘um. Humbucker tone is huge and articulate when overdriven—even for hours at a time. The adjustable stop tailpiece produces a lush, natural tone and having the ability to intonate this wraparound bridge is a big plus. Of course an Atom plays like butter and perfectly in tune too—which makes it sound even better. You can also hear how the new A-Wedgie neck joint adds resonance from the tip of the headstock to the end of the body. You can feel it. And lastly, all the quilted maple tops are so beautiful to me but when I saw this Natural Honey Burst, I thought it was the prettiest one I had ever seen. I just lost it, I guess.”

The judge stared over his half spectacles with a considered look, rubbed his chin as if weighing all the facts brought before him, and announced in a commanding voice, “Not guilty! Not even a little bit guilty! I am going to Wildwood to play that Atom for myself right now. Court adjourned.”
