So, something is definitely going on in the Pacific Northwest. That has become clearly evident. Is it Bigfoot? Well maybe, but probably a bigger influence right now is Northwest Guitars in Bellevue, Washington. They are emerging as the area’s premiere guitar store. I guess that is just how it goes when you are naturally the coolest, friendliest, most helpful and knowledgeable guys around.

Last week they also had the Guitar of the Week—a stellar, and now already legendary Honey Burst, Atom. As we understand it, there was such a lineup to actually see, touch, play and take home this amazing instrument that Northwest Guitars had no choice but to determine who was to be selected as the lucky winner, by holding a Jeopardy-style showdown. Gary, obliviously in command of elevated guitar intelligence and knowledge, took the win in the final bonus round when he was the first to respond to the musical trivia question…“If Tom Anderson could be any animal, what would he be?” The buzzer sounded and from his podium position he confidently shouted out the faithful guitar-winning answer ahead of his rivals. An astronomical Anderson congratulation to Gary is certainly in order here. Funny thing though, not one of us at the Guitarworks has ever heard Tom express a propensity for emus. As we said earlier, something is definitely going on in the Pacific Northwest.

But there was one who did not participate in the competition. Seems Paul knew something—knew something was coming to Northwest Guitars that was equally awe-inspiring—in an entirely different way. Something was coming from Anderson Guitars especially for him. Yes, with unparalleled wisdom, Paul specced and ordered this first-ever Transparent Amber to Cherry Burst, Alder, Classic, complemented by an elegant Pearl White Pickguard, and loaded with a balanced set of VA12, VA12R and VA23 pickups—all directed by a 5-Way selector and Add-Bridge Push/Pull switch. With the inclusion of the VA Booster switch, Paul has no less than 14 vital vintage sounds at his fingertips. Silky smooth moves are consummated by joining forces with a svelte T/A Standard neck profile featuring a traditional 1 5/8-inch nut width.

Well, we said it before and then we said it again at the end of paragraph 2 and, yea you guessed it, we are going to say it one more time, “There is something definitely going on in the Pacific Northwest. What is it? Look upon the face of Anderson inspired pure Pacific Northwest joy.
