Hollow T Classic
Rosewood Top on Alder Back
Natural with Brown Back

Last week several earthshaking news announcements came to light. Of course the one that will have the longest lasting and farthest reaching repercussions concerning the quality of all our lives was the announcement made by the Associated Anderson Press concerning the addition of the M-Series pickups to the Hollow T Classic line. This single all-encompassing move cannot help but change the ease with which guitar players will now be able to present great tone.

But just when we thought it couldn’t get anymore extreme or anymore exciting, Andy stepped up and ordered a Rosewood, Hollow T Classic from New York Guitar and Bass Boutique. And just to ensure bigness from beginning to end of the gig, he specced this beautiful instrument with twinM1s in the neck and middle positions, while a TV3 remains at the bridge to preserve the traditional luminescent clarity and fullness of this guitar’s valuable vintage heritage.

With the flick of the 5-Way, stepping into an M1 is like stepping on the gas of a well-mannered streetcar that has a blower hidden under its hood. In a flash you are catapulted past conventional performance levels to the sonic domain of giant single-coil tones, where the neck pickup can also cover clear, throaty humbucker duties when needed.

The middle “M” is a certain surprise as it begs the discovery of new realms you never thought a conventional middle pickup capable—big, bold and clearly influential.

Balancing the 5-Way control between both the M1’s solo acts, energizes a delightfully radiant cooperative sound that does not know the meaning of the word meek and yet still offers ample amounts of required, twin single-coil quack. And with the Push/Pull, Add-Bridge tone control switch activated, the neck & bridge pickups collaborate to voice their opinion with a remarkably traditional timbre.

We ask you, “Will this M-Series madness ever end?” Of course not—it’s way too good for that!
