Flash back to NAMM 2007 once again. We wanted to share with you a set of fun pictures involving a Tiger Eye Burst, Hollow T Classic-Drop Top. This was one of the guitars at the show that brought everyone to a complete standstill as they stared with a hypnotic-like gaze. The beauty of nature is clearly evident as the majesty of the natural wood grain enhances our Tiger Eye Burst finish. What a partnership.

As you may know, most of the guitars we took to this year’s NAMM Show were ordered beforehand and built for specific players who wanted and needed an Anderson Guitar added to their arsenal without too much delay.

Bill Horn is a very versatile guitarist who can effectively play many styles of music. One of his main gigs is at Disneyland in California, where he can stretch out, demonstrating what he can do in front of large crowds everyday. Bill is also quite a celebrity as he hobnobs with the likes of Goofy, Chip ‘n Dale and Pluto—some of his favorites. Bill has also been hard at work on an album project produced by Jorge Calderon—who has played with names such as Jackson Browne, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Warren Zevon.

In the studio Bill said his Andersons (he has more than one of course) flow like butter and make you feel like there is no reason to play any other type of guitar if you want the tracks to be the best they can be with the least amount of effort and the most amount of tone.

We have always thought of Bill as very intelligent.

Bill tells the story of taking his new Hollow T Classic-Drop Top to his tech, Paul Flynn, at True Tone Music in Santa Monica, California, to get the strings changed. Paul is highly respected on the L.A. Music scene as is True Tone. Paul was apparently so impressed with the Anderson that he called everyone in the shop to come see it. His comment regarding the new A-Wedgie neck joint, which now appears on all Anderson models with the exception of Crowdster, was something like: look at that beautiful neck joint! This neck ain’t going anywhere! Yes, Paul is highly respected.

Back to NAMM: Let us set the scene so you can even better appreciate these candid photographs: Bill bursts onto the scene leaping through the booth with the unbridled passion of a Weimaraner puppy. We share in his enthusiasm and are glad to see him. But we have been at the show for 4 days straight and it is 3:30PM on the last day.

Tom sits for a shot with Bill’s guitar and then Bill joins him for the next picture—all good. Bill is happy, Tom is relaxed. Tom is struggling a bit to keep his eyes open. Bill starts to sing and Tom, lulled by Bill’s soothingly professional voice, drifts into a much needed NAMM nap—67 seconds at most but time enough for us to snap this shot.

Fun Day.

Thanks Bill.
