As the Earth relaxes back on its axis, the sun’s angle increases and winter draws nearer to the Northern Hemisphere of our beautiful planet. And since every season in our lives has its gifts and opportunities laid before us, this fall/winter is certainly no exception.
Witness now the reemergence of
(Not to be confused with Arctic Blue Burst, which has always been since its inception).
Originally, Anderson’s Arctic Blue made its debut in 2003, after an Anderson-led color research expedition to the Arctic Circle revealed that ice and snow is actually blue and not white.
Proof of this can be seen in these “cool” pictures of Alaska shot by Anderson-player Curt.
So, from its inception, Arctic Blue was and instant and huge hit with guitar players around the world, as multidimensional blue hues danced from the maple tops of our instruments.
But then…oh no, a cataclysmic color calamity!
Something changed—a glitch at the paint manufacturer perhaps—and the beautiful blue hues were lost and the color appeared as only gray when applied to the surface of our beautifully figured maple tops. We immediately discontinued the shade, retreating to only offering it in a bursted format, Arctic Blue Burst, where we could control the overall blue experience at the body’s outer perimeter.
Great disappointment mounted as it looked as though the original and exotic Arctic Blue would be lost and gone forever.
Ken had anything to say about it!
And he did—have something to say about it, I mean—for Ken is the undisputed master of the wonderful world of wood stains here at Anderson Guitarworks and just could not settle for anything less than utter perfection.
Within minutes, Ken had the Anderson bush-plane and its pilot airborne and headed for the Alaskan wilderness to get a look at the frozen tundra, up-close and personal.
Braving the wilds and negotiating the untamed terrain, it did not take him long to get a real feel for what Arctic Blue was all about.
Yes, gifts and opportunities do abound in every situation and it was Ken who willingly unwrapped a gift everyone can now enjoy.
Happy Arctic Blue to you!
But nothing lasts forever—and some things don’t even last 2 hours. As this Arctic Blue, Drop Top arrived at Eddie’s Guitars it could not last—it’s Arctic Blueness was far too devastating, and was swept up by another happy Anderson Player moments after touching down in St. Louis.
But you have nothing to worry about now, for with Ken as our guide, navigating the frozen recesses of our globe (and minds), he can finish your dream Anderson with equal Arctic grandeur. Yes, we have not seen the last of Arctic Blue…or Ken, for that matter. Sunny Arctic days are indeed ahead.
And as if we have not already said enough: one unplugged strum of this Mahogany-backed Drop Top and you are sure it is an Anderson through and through—richer, more vibrant…and louder…than anything else could ever be. Take that one-and-only tone and blow it through a set of SF-series hum-canceling single coils and it’s like angels singing—full-bodied lows enlivened by a present high-end that is softened with an almost angelic-like quality.
Time to crush it?
H2+ stands the test of time and brings huge, broad-banded bridge position humbucker frequencies to the input of your favorite amp without provocation and will be heard as the predominate humbucker sound in the mist of the entire band. In every way, the audience will certainly know when you have taken center stage.
