Party at Ed’s Place!

Come on! We’re headin’ to Ed’s for a huge after New Year’s bash. Ed’s is Eddie’s Guitars of St. Louis, Missouri. This is a great place for a party because at this very moment they may have the single best collection of amazing Anderson Guitars anywhere in the country—or anywhere in the world for that matter. This is an unbelievably cool music store! And all they ask is that you wear one of those pointy New Year’s party hats when you stop by, and you’re in the door.

One completely amazing guitar that they have under their roof is this Transparent Orange, Hollow Atom. Every guitar has its own story to tell and if you look closely at this one you can deduce that the maple top underneath this transparent finish must be a deeper shade of tan, adding a rarely seen rich, earthy huge to the Transparent Orange finish.

But all that pales by comparison once you strap on this lightweight Hollow Atom for the first time. You may never consider guitars the same way again. Think I exaggerate? Go ahead, stand up and strap it on. Exquisite balance begs your fingers to fly across its frighteningly fast fingerboard. Some say it’s the hand-selected Indian Rosewood, others claim it to be the Stainless Steel frets, while many point to the perfectly leveled and dressed fret job. But the prevailing thought is: This is what an Atom is all about. It is everything mentioned above and much more. What else did you expect?

Crushing and focused humbucker tone exudes from this one’s twin humbucker setup. It boasts command of the stage via its tried-and-true H1- pickup at the neck position. Tucked close to the bridge, the new HW2 shows off with a more focused, mid-power persona. And both of these full-sized Atom humbuckers can also be split to form three surprisingly useful single coil selections.

Attending to your every need at Eddie’s Guitar Shop is Ed and Nathan, Steve, Matt and Adam. Adam can vouch for Atom. From the moment it arrived, Adam was transformed before everyone’s eyes. You see, up until that faithful moment Adam had never experienced an Atom before. His musical life, as he had known it, changed forever. Adam plays in an original band called Loser’s Luck. They are extremely popular in the Midwest. He defines their style as “Pop with and edge.” Independently, they have already sold 13,000 records—and are just getting started. Loser’s Luck are soon to be in all of the Midwest Hot Topic stores. Watch for this band.

Here is what Adam had to say after his first Atom experience: “I am a double humbucker guitar player and from the first moment I picked up this Hollow Atom, I fricking loved it! I always knew I wanted to get a twin humbucker Anderson even before Atom came along. But now this! Even that whammy bar is killing me. It is kind of a concealed weapon. I am not into Bigsby tremolos at all and I would own this in a second—it really works and stays and plays in tune. This is a great guitar and it is seriously beautiful in person too.” He finished up by saying, “This Transparent Orange, Hollow Adam is for the store but I will be ordering my own Adam soon.”

All of a sudden I realized that Adam had been calling the Atom an Adam. Since he only knew the name of this new guitar phonetically, he naturally assumed we had named it Adam—never suspecting it was Atom. Oh, let’s not spoil it for him shall we? When you drop by the party or give him a call to get your hands on this extra gorgeous Transparent Orange, Hollow Atom, just ask Adam for the Hollow Adam. Maybe Shakespeare was right all along when he said, “An Atom by any other name will still play as sweet.”

Editors Note: We do get letters. And after Atom—I mean Adam—read this Guitar of the Week he was uncontrollably filled with gratitude (or something) and moved to respond—right from Eddies Guitars—to us—to you.
