ARTIST NEWS!

Recording their new album entitled, A Collision, Jack Parker of the David Crowder Band was quoted as saying, “The Tom Anderson, Atom has been the driving force for this record. It has been used on 75% of the songs and that's a conservative estimate. Our happy friend Gary Burnette (Anderson Artist in Nashville) is beside himself in regard to the guitar—so once again Tom has worked another sonic miracle.”

They also wrote to us,

“Hey Tom,

I guess you heard the Atom was the hero of the recording. Conservatively speaking we grabbed it 9 out of 10 times we tracked a part. Gary Burnette was pretty much beside himself with the tones and playability—which is pretty cool seeing as how he's recording every day in Nashville. Just thought you'd like to know!!!!”

You could win an Atom!!! Apparently they were so thrilled with the performance of the Atoms on the new album that they are running their own Atom contest. Get the details.

The David Crowder band takes the stage with Andersons all around.

Suriel Zayas jammin’ on one of the first Atoms. He just received a brand new Sparkle Cherry Burst, Atom of his own.

Pete Anderson in awe of Atom—although he thinks the new instrument should be named Apete. What’s an Apete, for Pete’s sake?

To survive on stage, Frankie Sullivan must have a Crowdster for his live-music acoustic duties.

And told all to Anderson Guitars

As you probably know, Jim West is Weird Al Yankovic’s amazing guitar player. And at this year’s Grammy Awards their album won Best Comedy Album. We asked him what the experience was like and this is what he had to say:

Hey Roy....

The Grammy experience was really cool—especially winning. I went with Al, his wife Suzanne and his manager, Jay Levey. The Comedy Award was in the pre-telecast ceremony, which was excellent and may be its own TV show next year. It was hosted by Steve Vai, who did a great job.

After the award was announced we were escorted through a maze of media stations—rooms full of journalists with interview suites for MTV, VH-1, ET, etc. We walked down the infamous green (not red) carpet, where dozens of interviewers were lined up with their camera crews. Very surreal! There was also a photo “posing station” for throngs of still photographers.

The coolest thing was that Al got a lot of props from some of the younger nominees: Jack White of the White Stripes, Evanescence, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many others. We also ran in to Quentin Tarantino who is a big fan, believe it or not.

The show was great but the after show BMG party in Hollywood was crazy. Another media gauntlet at the entrance held up the flow to the security checkpoint. While waiting for Al to finish with the press, we watched as Hugh Hefner arrived with five or six beauties. In the VIP room, we saw Sharon Stone, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Jam, Craig Kilborne and Paris Hilton—with cell phone on ear.

Ellen Degeneres and Sarah McLaughlin came up to say hi. Sarah was cute—obviously a bit star-struck meeting Al. All the BMG honchos were introduced as well, whose names I immediately forgot.

Funny thing is, no cameras were allowed so I can't prove any of it!

Aloha,

Jim

The band Lonestar appeared on Good Morning America, Monday June 23rd.

They were great! When they came back from commercial and as the show was wrapping up, guitarist, Michael Britt, graciously let Dianne Sawyer jam on his Hollow T Classic. What a nice guy.

Weird Al on the Simpsons

Weird Al and his band were featured on an episode of the Simpson’s TV show that aired April 13th, did you see it? This is how Jim West, Al’s superlative Anderson Playing guitar player, was caricatured. Check out the headstock. The “A” is a nice touch, don’t you think? Thank you. Also, the band’s new CD will be out on May 20th followed by a summer tour. You can check out an in-depth interview with Jim or check their tour schedule at the Weird Al website—very fun!

Tom Anderson Goes Country—again.

Hayden Nicholas is the amazing guitarist that plays and writes with Clint Black. Hayden has a matched set of Anderson Guitars—a Translucent Forest Green, Hollow T Classic and a Translucent Forest Green, Classic. Both are augmented with gold hardware, feature swamp ash bodies and rosewood fingerboards. As the story was told to us, they were in the studio and Clint played Hayden’s guitars. Clint remarked, “Hey, why don’t my guitars play like this?” They replied, “Because they are not Andersons.” So Zeke, their tech, was commissioned to call us and procure a Classic for Clint. We built him one just like Hayden’s but he requested it finished in a very dark shade of Translucent Black and outfitted with chrome hardware. We are extremely pleased to have these very respected artists playing Tom Anderson Guitars.

As the story continues to unfold, Clint was very pleased with his first Classic and several Anderson guitars have followed. Here is more of the story. And still more.

Anderson Sightings:

Many companies choose gorgeous models in order to embellish their products in ads aimed at drawing attention to what they have to offer. If you look closely you can tell the real merit of a company by the models they select. Elixir Strings is now running an ad with a luscious babe that speaks volumes for their character.

If you have been following the Nephew story over the years there’s a new update as of Dec 2005 that tells all. Go there now!

DANGER! ATTENTION! ALERT! ANDERSON COUNTERFEITS!

The Huntsville, Texas, police contacted us about a guitar purchased in a pawnshop that said "Tom Anderson" on the headstock. They thought it was a fake. They were right! Some one has been bamboozling pawnshop owners by putting the name "Tom Anderson" and a model name on the headstock of other guitars. They seem to be using rather inexpensive guitars and merely changing the name on the headstock. We are now seeing more pop up all over the Texas and Oklahoma area. Please feel free to spread the word to everyone and if you or your friends see a used Anderson that doesn't look quite right or you have any questions about it, feel free to call or e-mail us to verify whether it is a real Tom Anderson before you buy. 805 498-1747 or aguitars@earthlink.net . Thanks for your help in this matter.
